this jolly season

can't believe it's december...again.
christmas is just upon the corner..school holiday is starting...
geez, time flies so fast, right?

this holiday, since i have nothing to do besides finishing my DVD piles, i've watched several series and movies.
recently, i watched pretty little liars and nikita.
i've read the pretty little liars books last year and i have to say it was really good.
it's rare to find a teen novel with a hint of mystery.
i'm a little disappointed, though. as the series progresses, it deviates from the original story.
the original story is good enough, why change it? right?
the change just makes the series suck.
and, why is Aria the queen bee? in the opening credits you see aria's the one 'shhhh'ing, and in every promotional photo of the cast, aria's the one who's standing in front.

see what i mean? it's like...aria's the center of the story while in fact, everyone has the same amount of story here. is it because lucy hale (the one who plays aria) is the more popular one?

the other series that i've been watching is nikita.
i gotta say, i owe it to doni for constantly telling me to watch this series.
at first i was really not interested because i saw the promo on warner TV and it was like...a sexy parade by maggie Q. in the promo it was like maggie Q is trying to promote the series with seductions and stuff.
but, then i dared myself to buy the dvd and turns out it was really exciting like Alias. (like, really similar to alias. i think it copies several elements of alias)
will definitely be in this year's top list.

speaking of this year's top list, i've been reviewing movies and series that i've watched this year to do my annual tradition.
as i try to compile this year's top 10 movie list, i realized that... this year's movie sucked.
i can't decide what to put on the list let alone which one is the winner since the movies sucked.
sure, there's the usual may-july blockbusters: superhero movies, big movie sequels, movies from famous directors.
the trailers were so promising but when i watched the movie, the story is so cliché. classic zero to hero stories, which a little addition of hot girls...like, 10 minutes of watching i could already guess the ending.
fortunately, i didn't seem to encounter the same problem when compiling this year's top 10 tv shows.
that's why, i'm gonna announce the tv shows and music list first (around the end of december)
the movie list will be announced around january.
oh yeah, btw, i've come up with a name for my award!
THE GOLDEN THUMB AWARD (y)
