side job

remember, a while ago, I posted about doing a school project about web designing?
well the project is finished and submitted, and I feel like posting the result!
my website is for a tour and travel company my group made up, Thafe Tours.
it's a mashup of our names: the, sheila, and fefe

this is the home of the website, it's got sliding panels, advanced search box for searching tour packages or booking tours, and it's got email field for you to subscribe to our newsletter.
the website consists of 4 main submenus: about us (history, services, news), tour packages (USA, europe, malaysia, singapore), testimonial, and contact us.
above is the USA tour page. you can click on one of the tabs to view the tour schedule and the gallery.

this is the testimonial page, so basically you will see all the nice testimonials of Thafe Tour clients. teh had a good time writing all of these comments. she wrote crazy comments like, "Thanks to Thafe Tour, I can meet Obama!"

andd the last one was the contact us button. it's basically 4 fields where you can write your name, email, and your comments for Thafe Tour.

you must be wondering what kind of a nerd I am, taking this computer school project so seriously. my friends didn't take the project seriously. One day before the submission deadline they were panicking because they hadn't even started making the website, whereas I've finished mine about 3 weeks before the deadline.
well, web designing has always been one of my guilty pleasure. I love web designing. I think the main reason is just how cool it is, being able to write some codes and make a website look fab.
but web designing is really mind and time consuming. it took hours for me to design my blog layout. the main difficulty is that you have to be really meticulous. you miss a single letter, a single dot, a single apostrophe mark, and it ruins everything.
but once you've finished, you got this...satisfaction, that you can transform something completely.
i've thought about pursuing a career in this field, thought about majoring in computer science, but the more i thought about it, i think i'm gonna keep this as a side job, as a hobby of mine. maybe if i'm free sometime i can open my own web design company. haha.

by the way, i've recently helped my friend nadya to revamp her blog Glitter Dessert
I have to admit it was the most challenging job yet, having to put in all this little components like 'share this' button, blog comments, since it's a fashion blog.
it's different from designing my own blog layout, because mine's a personal blog so you don't really need to add those little features.
but I kinda like it because once I'm finished, I get to feel a little proud of myself :)

so go! visit her blog! hope you like my design! and yes, her posts are fab!
